About Brad

Brad is a studio woodturner and woodturning demonstrator living and working in East Stroudsburg, in the heart of N.E. Pennsylvania's scenic Pocono Mountains.  He specializes in environmentally friendly classical and multi-axis lidded boxes, functional wooden bowls, hollow forms, and other lathe-turned craft.  Wherever practical, his work is made from local trees lost to storms, removed for construction,  or destined for the woodpile.  Passonate about preserving our environment, Brad uses eco-friendly finishes exclusively.

Brad is a member of the American Association of Woodturners, the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen, the Pocono Arts Council, and the Lehigh Valley Woodturners.

Artist Statement

Wood is my passion and my canvas. I am dedicated to creating  environmentally responsible lathe-turned craft that will enrich the lives of others and be passed down through succeeding generations. Whenever possible and practical, I base my work on wood rescued from local trees that have been lost to storms or otherwise removed - and finish the resulting forms in an ecologically friendly manner.

But beyond artistic endeavors, I take great pride in crafting museum-quality replacement components for antique spinning wheels, windsor chairs and the like so that they may continue to serve as their makers intended.

I take special delight in sharing my skills with others and collaborating with patrons on commissioned work - particularly when using wood of special value to its owner.

good in his labor..." - Ecclesiastes 2, 24
